Met Opera: Orfeo ed Euridice.

What a treat!

Frogger and I took Bail (for her upcoming b-day) to the Metroplitan Opera house yesterday afternoon to see "Orfeo ed Euridice."

I had never been to the opera before, and getting to see a relatively short opera (only about an hour and a half) at the Met in NYC was great for a first-timer.  The set was amazing...

It was a tall three-story structure that rotated.  And on each tier was the chorus, dressed as the dead spirits of many famous historical figures.  Including...
  • Babe Ruth
  • Abe Lincoln
  • William Shakespeare
  • Mussolini
  • Queen Victoria
  • Jimmy Hendrix
We had "partial view" seats in a balcony box... Which meant we had to move our chairs around to peer over the ledge to catch the action.  But it was worth it.  I never thought I would like the opera.  But I really enjoyed the story of these two lovers.
